Today, I am announcing my plan for an, across the board, 10% budget cut in all Nevada state departments effective DAY ONE as your new governor.
Cutting the state budget by 10%:
• Will clearly identify programs and departments that are ineffective.
• Will force the review of all contracted (outsourced) services/vendors used by the State of Nevada to identify those that are working, but more importantly, those programs and vendors that are NOT delivering for the State.
• Will increase productivity by eliminating ineffective programs, processes, and personnel.
• Will assist State Department Supervisors in the identification of poor performance in their departments and the authority terminate those incapable of delivering at an acceptable level.
